The Lyman Eagles had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 win over Rawlins on Monday. This was payback for Lyman, who suffered a 53-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Rawlins lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jose Morales. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with three steals. Morales is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Allard, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Lyman's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Rawlins, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyman's road trip will continue as they head out to face Powell at 6:00 p.m. on February 16th. Powell is coming into the match with five straight victories at home, so Lyman is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Rawlins is on the road again on Friday and plays Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on February 16th.
