Basketball Recap: Max Duncan Key Part of a Team Effort in Lava Bears Win

On Friday, the Bend Lava Bears made easy work of the Sweet Home Huskies and carried off a 60-34 win. The Lava Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Bend's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Duncan, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Duncan a new career-high in blocks (three). Cooper Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Bend is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Sweet Home, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Bend will square off against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sweet Home has already played their next contest (against Philomath), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
