5A District 3 recap September 10, 2013
Ribault moved up to 147 from 200 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 3. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of topping Jackson 35-6.
Baker County was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Wildcats triumphed over Bradford 43-6.
Baker County's dynamic duo of Jacob Carter and Mike Boone proved tough for the Tornadoes to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Carter threw for 261 yards and 4 touchdowns and Boone had 221 yards receiving.
Ryan Sulkowski's team's dynamic duo of Carter and Boone proved to be unstoppable against Bradford, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Boone had a great week catching the football as the Wildcats defeated Steve Reynolds' team.
Devyn McPherson was the best running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 50 yards as Wolfson topped the Tornadoes. Teammate Antonio Owens added to the ground attack by rushing for 43 yards.
He went 14-18 with 0 interceptions.
Boone was the best receiver in 5A District 3 this week as the Wildcats defeated Bradford.
Carter put up the best numbers in passing as Baker County bested the Tornadoes.
The Wolfpack's Tommy Collins and Lionell Bost have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brent McGlashon from Forrest leads the league in rushing with 106 yards.
The Rebels lost to White 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Malcus Cogdell was a bright spot for Forrest, as he ran for 46 yards in the loss.
