The Lincolnton Wolves's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Cherryville by a score of 51-41.
Lincolnton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camellia Holland, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sarah Rhyne, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Lincolnton's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Cherryville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincolnton will be home for the holidays to greet Bunker Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Bunker Hill is ranked 440th, while Lincolnton is ranked 420th). Cherryville will be home for the holidays to greet Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
