The Morristown Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to challenge the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Morristown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Morristown and Hauser had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Jets by a score of 9-7 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Yellow Jackets have lost by exactly two runs.

Sawyer Rogers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Everhart, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Jac-Cen-Del hadn't done well against Southwestern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Rebels. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Kaitlynn Shadday was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Shadday was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cheyenne Cullen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Josie Allen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Morristown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Jac-Cen-Del, their record is now 4-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Morristown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jac-Cen-Del struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Morristown's way against Jac-Cen-Del in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Morristown made off with a 13-6 victory. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
