Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Aberdeen

Aberdeen got themselves on the board against Black Hills on Wednesday, but Black Hills never followed suit. They blew past the Wolves 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lilly Camp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maysinn Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Britten Neal, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

Aberdeen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Black Hills only posted a batting average of .000.

Aberdeen's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Black Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aberdeen will host Tumwater at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Black Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against WF West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
