Baseball Recap: Brainerd Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Brainerd had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm 4-3. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 victory the Storm walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Tristan Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli Tautges, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Schenck, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Sauk Rapids-Rice is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
