Grand Traverse Academy has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Wednesday. They will take on the Mancelona Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Grand Traverse Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
Last Monday, everything went Grand Traverse Academy's way against Central Lake as Grand Traverse Academy made off with a 51-31 win.
Grand Traverse Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sadie Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Bell, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Mancelona came up short against Pine River Area on Monday and fell 51-40.
Grand Traverse Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mancelona, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.
Grand Traverse Academy came up short against Mancelona in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 35-31. Can Grand Traverse Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
