The El Camino Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They rang in the new year with a 60-51 victory over Del Campo on Friday. The victory was just what El Camino needed coming off of a 98-52 loss in their prior matchup.
El Camino's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Demetrious Perry led the charge by scoring 23 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Watts, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
El Camino's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-11. As for Del Campo, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Rio Americano the next time they take the court. Del Campo will head out to face Rio Americano at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while El Camino will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
