Upper Arlington has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Lincoln Golden Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Upper Arlington walked away with it. They managed a 23-17 win over Pickerington Central on Friday.
Meanwhile, Lincoln put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Grove City with a 48-42 win. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Diore Hubbard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 193 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 56 receiving yards. Hubbard was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. Brennen Ward also helped out by tossing the rock for 250 yards.
Another reason for the win was Lincoln's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Derek Bradley was the leader with two sacks.
Upper Arlington is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Lincoln, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Upper Arlington was dealt a bruising 41-14 loss at the hands of Lincoln when the teams last played back in September of 2014. Thankfully for Upper Arlington, Vasean Davis (who rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
