Having just played yesterday, the Whitman Vikings will jump right back in to play the Delaware Military Academy Seahawks at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Whitman unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Milford Mill Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (59), Whitman still had to take the loss.
Despite their defeat, Whitman saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hayden Walsh, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Titian DeRosa, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Whitman struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Delaware Military Academy didn't have too much trouble with Christiana at home on Thursday as they won 65-47. The win was just what Delaware Military Academy needed coming off of a 65-40 loss in their prior contest.
Whitman's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Delaware Military Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
