Basketball Recap: Wesleyan Christian Academy Snags 13th Victory in Last 16 Games

Wesleyan Christian Academy won the last time they faced TPLS Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans walked away with a 73-65 win over the TPLS Christian Academy Lions. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 27th in North Carolina, while the Lions are ranked 127th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wesleyan Christian Academy was led to victory by Kennedy Jackson and Cooper Cox. Jackson went 8 for 14 on her way to 21 points, while Cox went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and four steals. That's the most points Jackson has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Kate Carr, who went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points.

Wesleyan Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for TPLS Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Wesleyan Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-62 loss against South Wake on the 23rd. TPLS Christian Academy has also already played their next matchup (against Grace Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
