If the North Duplin Rebels were riding high off their 69-29 takedown of the Spring Creek Gators last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Duplin fell just short of Spring Creek by a score of 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat North Duplin has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, North Duplin still got an impressive performance from Dujuan Armwood, who scored 28 points. Armwood hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Treshawn Ruffin, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spring Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brennan Chambers, who scored 20 points. Jackson Rose was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
North Duplin has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Spring Creek, they pushed their record up to 5-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
North Duplin will head out on the road to challenge Neuse Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Neuse Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. As for Spring Creek, they will be playing at home against Hobbton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hobbton is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
