The Booker T. Washington Tornadoes extended their postseason success on Thursday against the Westland Hialeah Wildcats. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 44-37. Winning may never get old, but Booker T. Washington sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Booker T. Washington had a senior duo take command as Leroy Lee Jr scored 16 points and Jahmal David scored 16 points. Armani Horton was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Despite the loss, Westland Hialeah had strong showings from Franki Sosa Jr., who scored 20 points along with four steals, and Jahi Lopez, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tim Trimmings, who scored two points along with 15 rebounds.
Booker T. Washington is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. As for Westland Hialeah, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
Booker T. Washington is on the road again on Saturday and plays Monsignor Pace on February 10th. Hopefully Monsignor Pace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. Westland Hialeah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
