A feisty cat fight will be fought as Minerva Lions  duke it out with  Canton South Wildcats at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Minerva will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last.
Minerva took a loss when they played away from home  on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. They blew past Fairless 14-3. With that  win, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 7  runs per game.
 Gabby Kashdan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Kashdan was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3. She also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season.
 In other batting news, Minerva got a  massive  performance out of  Mackenzie French, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. Those  RBI marked the first that  French  brought in this season.  Sierra Cress was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-3.
 Minerva was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  batting average total in three consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Canton South lost  15-1 to Conotton Valley on Friday.
 Canton South's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Minerva, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-3.
 Minerva suffered a grim  9-3 defeat to Canton South  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024. Can Minerva avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
