Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Liberty Tech Magnet 39-24.

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Korbin Brown out in front who rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Brown is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Braxton Howard was another key signal caller, throwing for 119 yards and four TDs.
Another reason for the win was Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Daegan Collins was especially locked on to Liberty Tech Magnet's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, McKenzie had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They really took it to the Trojans for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-6 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-6.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central better keep an eye on Cole Brown. He was instrumental in McKenzie's win, rushing for 71 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, while also throwing for 158 yards and one touchdown. Brown also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss). A healthy portion of Brown's aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Jacobi Melton.
McKenzie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 367 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for McKenzie, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central took a serious blow against McKenzie when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 69-7. Thankfully for the Tigers, Tate Surber (who rushed for 97 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
