Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blue Ridge). Everything went their way against the Decatur Eisenhower Panthers on Saturday as they made off with a 19-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the match before.
Ellie Schlieper made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Blue Ridge got a massive performance out of Presley Hardesty, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Hardesty a new career-high. Karlee Fenton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Blue Ridge's record now sits at 7-9. As for Decatur Eisenhower, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
