The Lone Peak Knights are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the DeSoto Eagles. Lone Peak took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of DeSoto.
When it comes to explaining why Lone Peak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shawnee Nordstrom. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Bartholomew, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Lone Peak's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for DeSoto, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Lone Peak won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Monterey at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. Monterey knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Lone Peak likes a good challenge. DeSoto won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ridgeline at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Ridgeline is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
