West Fork is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will venture away from home to face off against the Providence Academy Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
West Fork made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Berryville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. West Fork's pitcher stepped up to hand Berryville an 11-0 shutout on Friday. 11 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Clara Harderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, West Fork got a massive performance out of Leah Swinson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Kinley Smith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
West Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Providence Academy). They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Life Way Christian on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.
Like West Fork, Providence Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Camden Griggs. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Griggs a new career-low in hits (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Abby Roy was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Keen, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
The victory (which was West Fork's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Providence Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. West Fork hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Providence Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
West Fork suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Providence Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can West Fork avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
