The Mishawaka Cavemen will head out on the road to square off against the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
21 must be Mishawaka's lucky number: they beat Huntington North with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Cavemen put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 21-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavemen.
Lilly St. Clair made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). St. Clair was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Shea Crawford was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Millie Bultinck was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Mishawaka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .385 that Huntington North posted.
Meanwhile, Tippecanoe Valley got the win against Triton on Monday by a conclusive 21-6. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Like Mishawaka, Tippecanoe Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Mackaylie Costello. Throwing, Costello struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Dalynne Bussard struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Costello has posted since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Costello scored four runs while going 1-for-4, while Bussard scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Malaynie Costello and Kahlyn Manns did most of the damage at the plate: Malaynie scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Manns scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Manns has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Mishawaka pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
