Volleyball Recap: Lake Park Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lake Park won the last time they faced St. Charles North and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lancers came out on top against the North Stars by a score of 2-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

While Lake Park won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23.

Carter Gibbons paced Lake Park's offense, picking up 13 kills. Gibbons got some help from Jake Ellenbecker and his 22 assists. Gibbons also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Michael Ogorzalek, racking up two apiece.

Lake Park's victory bumped their record up to 22-10. As for St. Charles North, they moved to 15-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Lake Park will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Charles North, they will head out on the road to face off against Waubonsie Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The North Stars are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
