Basketball Recap: Mater Academy East Las Vegas' Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Mater Academy East Las Vegas lost against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights fell 67-54 to the Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Mater Academy East Las Vegas lost, don't look at Miles Williams. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 assists. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lonnie Bass, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds.

Democracy Prep Agassi Campus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Stroughter out in front who went 7 of 9 on his way to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Stroughter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Dashaun Harris, who posted 14 points and five steals.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas' defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, the win was the fifth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-49 victory against Desert Hills on the 7th. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 75-58 loss against Brentwood School on the 7th.
