Even though the Fannindel Falcons have not done well against the Miller Grove Hornets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fannindel came out on top against Miller Grove by a score of 56-44. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but Fannindel was the better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fannindel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kalob Runnels, who scored 22 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Runnels has scored at least a third of Fannindel's points. Kemonte Cuba was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Fannindel is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-14 record this season. As for Miller Grove, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-26.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fannindel will square off against Savoy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Savoy is coming into the contest with four straight victories at home, meaning Fannindel will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Miller Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Campbell at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Miller Grove is facing Campbell at the right time seeing as Campbell is stuck on a eight-game losing streak.
