Prestonwood Christian North had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Greenville Christian, posting a 54-0 victory at home. Considering Prestonwood Christian North has won eight matches by more than 23 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Hayden Wood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 122 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Branson Reeves, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown.
The win was the seventh in a row for Prestonwood Christian North, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Bethesda Christian and 2-7 Greenville Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.8% over those games). As for Greenville Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Prestonwood Christian North will take on Christian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Prestonwood Christian North likes a good challenge. Greenville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
