Hamilton and Rio Vista are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Hamilton Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Rio Vista Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Hamilton came up short against Itasca and fell 49-38.
Meanwhile, Rio Vista had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over Italy.
Shamar Richburg and Dawson Macklin were among the main playmakers for Rio Vista as the former dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Richburg is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 16 games he's played. Ashton Huey was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Rio Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 21-12 record this season.
Hamilton might still be hurting after the 58-36 loss they got from Rio Vista in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hamilton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
