There's no place like home for the Wise Pumas, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They managed a 67-63 victory over Laurel on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Alexis Obase continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Jayson Frost was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Wise's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Laurel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wise will finish 2023 at home by hosting Lake Taylor at 7:15 p.m. on December 28th. Laurel will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Flowers at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
