Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Trego Golden Eagles walked away with it. They breezed by Spearville at home to the tune of 56-8. The victory was nothing new for Trego as they're now sitting on seven straight.
It was another big night for Ashton Wynn, who rushed for 242 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 88 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Wynn is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Trego's win was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 7-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-7 Spearville and 2-7 Kiowa County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.4% over those games). As for Spearville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Trego will be playing at home against Rawlins County at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Spearville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
