Malachi Johnson went supernova for Somerset Academy Losee, rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Johnson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Kieran Daniel, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown.
Mojave's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Williams, who threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns. S'Marrion Coleman was another key contributor, picking up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Somerset Academy Losee's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.4 points. As for Mojave, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
Somerset Academy Losee will square off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Centennial's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four contests. Mojave does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
