2A/1A Conference 17 recap September 10, 2013
Wallace-Rose Hill scaled the state rankings by moving to 140 from 189 this week, the biggest jump in 2A/1A Conference 17. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of besting East Duplin 17-0.
Union fell to James Kenan 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dezmond Faison was a bright spot for the Spartans, as he ran for 162 yards in the loss.
Faison was the most successful running back in the league this week. Dustin Alphin also contributed to the rushing game with 45 yards on the ground.
Tavion Graham was the best wideout in the league this week as West Bladen fell to Whiteville. Graham racked up 2 receptions for 35 yards.
Dylan Kraft put up the best numbers in passing as Trask lost to West Columbus. He finished with 4 completions for 43 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Stephon McDonald. The West Bladen star has 1 catches for 66 yards.
Midway led 2A/1A Conference 17 in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on Rosewood.
