The Damascus Hornets entered their tilt with the Walter Johnson Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Damascus took down Walter Johnson 55-38 on Monday. For Damascus, this counts as revenge for the 60-22 loss Walter Johnson walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Despite the loss, Walter Johnson still got an impressive performance from Naamiah Corke, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Corke has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Youssef, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Damascus' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Walter Johnson, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Damascus will take on Sherwood at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Walter Johnson, they will head out on the road to face off against Gaithersburg at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
