The Lake View Wild Gators pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-55 to Lamar. Lake View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lamar apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Lamar can attribute much of their success to Xavier "Zoom" Jackson, who scored 16 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alvion Ward, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Lake View are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake View will square off against Hannah-Pamplico at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hannah-Pamplico focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Wednesday. As for Lamar, they will head out on the road to face off against Green Sea Floyds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
