The third road match was the charm for the Lexington Minutemen, as they earned their first road win of the season. Everything went their way against Oakwood on Wednesday as Lexington made off with a 45-22 victory. This was payback for Lexington, who suffered a 46-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Oakwood's loss came despite strong showings from Gracie Hanner and Nikita Taylor. Hanner scored eight points, while Taylor scored four points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hanner has scored all season.
Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Oakwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Armstrong the next time they take the court. Oakwood will head out to face Armstrong at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lexington will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
