The Castle Knights will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Evansville North Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Castle entered their tilt with New Albany with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Castle took down New Albany 35-17 on Friday.
Antonio Harris was on fire: he rushed for 192 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry. Harris was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Mccool, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Evansville North's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Floyd Central by a score of 28-20. The win made it back-to-back wins for Evansville North.
Evansville North had a senior duo take command as Sam Mckinney rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown and Kaleb Harris gained 88 total yards and two touchdowns.
Evansville North's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Harris and Kaleb Vashon who racked up six sacks between them.
Castle's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points per game. As for Evansville North, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Castle has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 212.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Evansville North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 206.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Castle came up short against Evansville North when the teams last played back in August, falling 21-14. Can Castle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
