Paden Good was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Nate Shoemaker and Ethan McQuade did most of the damage at the plate: Shoemaker scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while McQuade scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those hits marked the first that McQuade got this season.
Catalina Foothills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games dating back to last season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cienega and Salpointe Catholic meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Cienega came up short against Salpointe Catholic, falling 16-5.
Cienega saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JAKE RIESGO, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. PARKER SCHAGEL was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Cienega's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Catalina Foothills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .426. It's a different story for Cienega, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain Catalina Foothills' hitters?
Everything went Catalina Foothills' way against Cienega in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Catalina Foothills made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catalina Foothills since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
