The Horizon Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 65-35 loss at the hands of Cactus Shadows. While losing is never fun, Horizon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Falcons are ranked 47th).
Despite the loss, Horizon still got an impressive performance from Craig Rodgers, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Avi Caplan, who scored four points along with two blocks.
Horizon has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Cactus Shadows, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Desert Mountain the next time they take the court. Cactus Shadows will head out to face Desert Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Horizon will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
