After flying high against the Foreman Gator Arkansas last Friday, The Dierks Outlaws came back down to earth. Dierks ended up on the wrong side of a rough 36-16 walloping at the hands of Poyen on Friday. Dierks was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Poyen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Kevin Freeman was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brayden Hull, who picked up 51 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Dierks has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Poyen, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
Dierks will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Mount Ida at 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd. As for Poyen, they will be playing at home against Mineral Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mineral Springs is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
