The La Quinta Blackhawks just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Brawley Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. La Quinta is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
On Wednesday, La Quinta didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Twentynine Palms, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win.
Meanwhile, Brawley came up short against Aliso Niguel on Wednesday and fell 56-43. While losing is never fun, Brawley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while Aliso Niguel is ranked 169th).
The losing side was boosted by Domanic Vallejo, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Flores, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
La Quinta's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Brawley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
Everything came up roses for La Quinta against Brawley when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 72-30 win. With La Quinta ahead 35-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
