Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jac-Cen-Del). They strolled past the South Decatur Cougars with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 77-62. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Despite the loss, South Decatur had strong showings from Karson Templeton, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 24 points along with five boards and three steals, and Drake Scaggs, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. What's more, Scaggs also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Lucas Ballard was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

The win was the third in a row for Jac-Cen-Del, bringing their record for this year to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for South Decatur, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Jac-Cen-Del wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-57 defeat against Southwestern on the 20th. As for South Decatur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-37 loss against South Ripley on the 21st.
