If Sidney were riding high off their 64-24 takedown of Griswold three weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Sidney found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 26-48 punch to the gut against Stanton on Friday. The state rankings had actually given Sidney a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
The loss dropped Sidney's record to 4-3. The victory bumped Stanton's record up to 6-1.
Next week Sidney take on Fremont-Mills at 7:00 PM. Fremont-Mills have averaged 56 points over the course of their past six games, so Sidney might be in for a challenge. Stanton will be playing at home against Griswold at at 7:00 PM. Griswold also lit up the scoreboard in their last contest, so this could be a high-scoring contest.
