The Birdville Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell 63-50 to Colleyville Heritage. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Birdville in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Journee Hampton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Colleyville Heritage, scoring 29 points along with five steals. Hampton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Suliane Davis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Birdville has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-21 record this season. As for Colleyville Heritage, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-9.
Birdville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Colleyville Heritage will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Ryan will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
