Camarillo has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Moorpark Musketeers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camarillo will be strutting in after a victory while Moorpark will be coming in after a defeat.
Camarillo gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They enjoyed a cozy 23-6 win over Oak Park.
Camarillo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathaniel Madrigal led the charge by rushing for 148 yards. Jacson Cutting was in the mix as well, providing Camarillo with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Moorpark unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 36-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thousand Oaks.
Moorpark's defeat came about despite a quality game from Luke Cochran, who rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Moorpark's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Nicholas Andrade and his two sacks.
Camarillo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Moorpark fell to 7-1.
Everything came up roses for Camarillo against Moorpark in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 44-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Camarillo since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
