On Saturday, Round Valley got the win against Phoenix Christian by a conclusive 13-6. The Elks haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Carla Arreola made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Autum Webster was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Ruth Wiltbank was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Round Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Winslow unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Bourgade Catholic, falling 12-2.
Rylie Sharp was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Round Valley pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Winslow, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Round Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Winslow struggles in that department as they've averaged .509. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Round Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Winslow in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 11-9. Will the Elks repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
