The Alpine Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 54-44 to Morton. Alpine lost against Morton in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-32 score last time.
Despite the loss, Alpine saw an underclassman step up: Karolina Castillo scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Novah Carrasco, who scored 5 points.
Alpine's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Morton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Alpine will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Fort Hancock at 4:30 p.m. on December 5th. Fort Hancock's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Alpine's offense will have their work cut out for Alpine. As for Morton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plains at 6:15 p.m.
