If the Shawnee Mission Christian Mustangs were feeling good off their 39-13 takedown of the Blue Ridge Christian Warriors last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Shawnee Mission Christian fell 48-38 to Heritage Christian on Thursday. Shawnee Mission Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Heritage Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Shawnee Mission Christian still got an impressive performance from Emily Kleczka, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Holly Hardesty was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Shawnee Mission Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Heritage Christian, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Whitefield Academy the next time they take the court. Heritage Christian will host Whitefield Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Shawnee Mission Christian will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
