The Pittsfield Generals waltzed into their contest Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They really took it to Chicopee for the full four quarters, racking up a 86-59 win at home. Pittsfield's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Pittsfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyana Summers out in front who scored 18 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Madison Stetz, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Pittsfield's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Chicopee, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pittsfield will challenge Minnechaug Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Minnechaug Regional is ranked 26th, while Pittsfield is ranked 30th). As for Chicopee, they will head out on the road to face off against Chicopee Comp at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
