Apostles Lutheran has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Averroes Falcon on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Varsity Opponent scored an imposing 58 points on Monday, Apostles Lutheran still came out on top. Apostles Lutheran secured a 63-58 W over Varsity Opponent.
Jeremy Bork continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamek Medhanie, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Averroes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Oakland Military Institute by a score of 60-49. 60 seems to be a good number for Averroes as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Apostles Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Averroes, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Apostles Lutheran suffered a grim 71-45 defeat to Averroes in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Apostles Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
