Alpha Omega Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against Cornerstone Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Alpha Omega Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Alpha Omega Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Calvary Baptist 51-19 at home.
Alpha Omega Academy can attribute much of their success to Kathryn Peach, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 19 rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Peach. Another player making a difference was Maddie Wallace, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 28-12 win over Humble Christian. Given Cornerstone Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Humble Christian is ranked 949th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alpha Omega Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Alpha Omega Academy came up short against Cornerstone Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 39-31. Thankfully for Alpha Omega Academy, Faith Keck (who scored 16 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
