The Shoals Christian Flame had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against Sumiton Christian by a score of 58-45 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Shoals Christian who now have three in a row.
Sarah Davis (2025) continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Shoals Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Maggie Owens, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Shoals Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Sumiton Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
Shoals Christian will face off against Marion County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shoals Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Marion County likes a good challenge. Sumiton Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
