The Plattsburgh Hornets will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Seton Catholic Central Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Plattsburgh had to suffer through a rough 74-29 loss at the hands of Saranac. While losing is never fun, Plattsburgh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Saranac is ranked 39th).
Meanwhile, Seton Catholic Central came up short against Chazy last Wednesday and fell 40-31.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Grace Trombley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. She scored a full 35.5% of Seton Catholic Central's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Langlois, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Plattsburgh now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Seton Catholic Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3.
Plattsburgh strolled past Seton Catholic Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 41-27. Does Plattsburgh have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seton Catholic Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
