3A Region III District 20 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Dalton Horton and Sakedron Horn provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Fairfield. The connection was good for 77 yards, the longest such play in 3A Region III District 20 this season.
Center moved up to 120 from 311 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Roughriders were able to make the jump by beating the Eagles 26-23.
Center's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Horton threw for 242 and three touchdowns and Horn had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Kj Garrett chipped in 73 yards. Dejalen Preston helped Center's passing attack out by catching three balls for 74 yards.
Jack Ford made the biggest impact on defense this week as Kevin Goodwin's team topped Fairfield. The sophomore forced one fumble and grabbed one sack.
Center's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Roughriders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Horton has thrown for 698 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Garrett has 15 catches for 138 yards. Garrett leads the league in rushing with 513 yards.
The Roughriders extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region III District 20 this week by beating John Bachtel's team, 26-23. The victory was the fourth in a row for Center.
